« on: Sunday 29 July 07 14:32 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to Bray Parish Records?  I cannot find a Wise family:

Lucy born 1802 Bray
William born 1810 Bray
John born 1814   where ?
George born 1818   where ?

Parents are George Wise born where?  and Elizabeth Kentfield born 1776 Warfield.

I need to find out where George was born.  Can anyone help?

Regards, Abiam

Great!
I shall print off and digest and yes, I'm interested in any Wise/Wyse and Kentfield in Warfield.  Especially George born around 1775 in Warfield, Binfield, Bray.....
Thank you very much,
Abiam

Hi Angie,

I've had a look and the first 4 are certainly 'mine'.  Did it say the parents of these four?  I need them to be George and Elizabeth!

For George's line I don't quite understand:
" George Born 6/1/1818 Bap 15/2/1818 in B.W.s this was in born column"

Maybe I'm lacking somewhere but what does B.W.s mean?  I shall probably regret asking as the answer will simple!

The others may well be relatives but until I find George I'm still stuck!  And yes, Hpt is Holyport a small village just outside Maidenhead.

Once again your help is much appreciated,
Abiam

Angie,

I wonder if I could be very cheeky    :-[   and ask you to do a couple of look ups for me whilst you're delving into the Bray PRs? They seem to disappear from the IGI before about 1653.

I've got a William Woodwell/Woodall of Bray who left a will in 1712. All I know is that his wife was called Jane and that they had their children in Bray between 1671 and 1685. I can't find William & Jane's marriage (presumably about 1669/71) nor can I find William's baptism (? around 1635-53).

I've also got Stephen Chapman married in Bray in 1671 to Eleanor Norman but no sign of either of their baptisms (? around 1640-55).

I'd be really grateful if you could help at all.   ;D

Jill

HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Hi Angie,

I think it's my George you're talking about?  And my big problem is that I can't find where he was born.  There were lots of Wise's in Bray, Binfield, Winkfield Warfield, Touchen End in fact all over that side of Berkshire.  It's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack!  He married  in Winkfield.

By the way you didn't say what BWs was in my earlier message.  Any ideas?

Regards Abiam

They 'disappear' from everywhere before 1652 - if you ever find them the BRO would love to know where they are. It is worth checking with WSRO to see if they have any BTs for this period.
