finding siblings
« on: Wednesday 01 August 07 19:25 BST (UK) »
i'm looking for any siblings of my grandmother
she was born in liverpool in 1908 to parents david and florence (who were also born in liverpool).
david and florence married in 1906, so my nan may have been their first born, but i can't find any siblings either on igi or lancashire bmd (can't find nan on there either!)
any suggestions?
thanks

Giving us their surname might help  :D

And your nan's first name.

And do you know there are any siblings or is it a case that there just might be?

Hi Sueky,

I don't think the IGI have much from 1900 onwards; have you looked on www.freebmd.org.uk or www.ancestry.co.uk?

i've been on ancestry and 'narrowed' it down to about 84 possibles (or should i say impossibles!)
i'd gone through 30 odd pages before i realised i was looking at the marriage index (i only realised then because i came across my grt grt grandfathers name - which fortunately is alexander and not zachary) LOL

John Wood Dec 1911 West Derby 8b 1018 Edwards
Ann Wood Jun 1912 West Derby 8b 1111 Edwards
Florence Wood Sep 1914 West Derby 8b 1080 Edwards

Although there's no way from knowing that if they are right, and judging by the 6 month gap between the first 2, I expect at least one of them will be wrong.

It's really hard till you get the family on a census, and the release of the 1911 is some years away!  :( :( :( :'(
