Surname Doyle in tralee around 1885
« on: Thursday 02 August 07 15:31 BST (UK) »
My Grandmother Ellen Doyle met her future husband in Tralee around this time.

I would like to trace the relatives she left behind when leaving Ireland for England to marry my grandfather who was serving with the British Army in Tralee.

Ellen's  Father was a James Doyle (Stonemason) who was deceased ,when she married ,in Jan 1887 in Sheffield Yorkshire.
Her Mother's maiden name was Mary Fleming

Ellen was born in Killorglin in 1865 her sister Bridget was also born there in 1866
Patrick was born in 3/1/1868 in Kerry (No town mentioned) as was Mary born 1872
Jason was born in Castleisland 27/10/1860.

I have since found a birth in Tralee for a Mary Fleming in 1830 who could possibly be the mother of Ellen Doyle.
Mary was born to parents James Fleming 1800 & Mary Straten 1804 . Mary's siblings are Ann 6/6/1826 and Rebecca 1828,

Can anyoune help me to confirm that these are my relations or not.

As can be seen by the places of birth of the above children the Family moved around Kerry in this period.  One possible explanation was his employment as a stonemason could have kept him moving locations for work.

If anyone has any of the above in their Family's history can you please get in touch as I would love to pass on information about Ellen & also a Photo.
