Thank you all so much, you have been amazing :-)

It is confusing now though.  What would you think?  I mean there is a Philippa BONE born in 1780's, but there are 3 of them.

Then there is the marriage you said, William to Philelphia...  And all those kids in the 1841 census are BONE.

I wish there was a way as I said to find out if Phillipa is Philadelphia... and if Phillipa BONE to James SNELL was a second marriage.

So given what you all have said, do you think it possible that Phillipa is Philadelphia Skidgemore, who married William BONE.. and who later married James SNELL?

Any opinions are welcomed.  Thanks.

As you have now been given contact details for the online parish clerk I should get in touch with her.  She will have access to the parish records and will probably be able to answer you.  Unless all the Bone children are illegitimate then Philippa must have been married before - the baptism for Fanny gives two parents for instance.
Phillipa and Philadelphia are often interchangeable.
If you can get hold of the film of the parish reg to search at your nearest LDS centre (worldwide) then most of the answers will be there but the opc may save you doing that.

Thank you very much for that.  I am looking at her site now and will contact her.  I just saw the transcriptions for the Cornwall English Newspapers that Rita and others did, but Allmon's birth is not there as they start at 1836 and his birth is not listed.  So he was obviously born before 1836....

Sometimes they are listed as living in St Austell too though so I am also looking at that OPC page too.  So far I haven't found much...  ???

I still have to wonder what happened to Allmon in 1841 though lol.  All this extra information is very interesting and greatly appreciated.

I just found a marriage at http://www.uk-genealogy.org.uk/england/Cornwall/towns/s/St.Stephens/index.html on page 23 (following link from Rita's site of Philimore marriages at St Stephens, for a Peter SKIDGEMOORE to Mary BENATTO, 8 August 1785.. so I guess that is them.

So I wonder if that is Phillipa/Phillelphia's parents.

This is fun isn't it, just confusing and frustrating hehe.. but gota love it.

If you look up Philadelphia's baptism on the IGI then click the batch number for the film and just search on the surname Skidgemore you get lots of hits.  You can refine it by putting parents' names but to see them all gives a picture of the wider family.
You can also search it for all the other surnames.
Do a similar thing with the marriage film.   Always adds interest to the hunt!

Thank you very much for that Sylvia.

The problem is that my Allmon SNELL is not with his family in the 1841 census, and in some places his father is James SMITH, and in another the family are MULL/MELL.

I have seen the images myself but they are hard to read.  But still no Allmon.

I have checked, double checked, triple checked all the census I can find, but I can not find Allmon.  His family were in St Austell but he is not.

Maybe I should just give up  ???
