I thought it was the baby.  It's the dad.  I wonder if he only got baptised because they were going overseas?

Titantic sank on night of 14 April 1912.

So either - it should read died on 14 April 1912 or they christened him because he died and no body to bury?

Maybe that was "died on" and not "christened".
