Playle/Playl Familes
« on: Saturday 04 August 07 07:21 BST (UK) »
Hi Everybody,
I am trying to trace to separate family lines in my tree both with similar names Playle & Playl and wonder if anybody else has come across the families at all. I have searched the Essex boards and see that a number of people have connections to various Playle families but in slightly different areas to i have linked my families so far, but they are not that far away to be un-related.

Louisa Playl - Born app 1828 Writtle, married 1852 to George Camp in Fryerning. Her father was listed as a John Playle on the marrage certificate. I have not positively located her before her marriage on the census, and have no info on John other than he was a Laborer at the time of Louisa's marriage. A good possability on 1851 is at HO107; Piece: 1775; Folio: 174; Page: 12, which is a Louisa Plaib in Ingatestone, which looking at the image reads more to me as Plaile. A witness to her marriage was a Sarah Playl, whom i am guessing is probably a sister.

Charlotte Playle - Born app 1803 Little Baddow, married in Nov 1818 to William Livermore in Wickham Bishops. I have all the census for her up to her death in 1866, but nothing to give any clues to her parents.

Thanks

Richard

It won't be of any use right now but in the long run this may help to eliminate or confirm a piece in the jigsaw:
Laindon St Nicholas cum Basildon Holy Cross D/P 278/1/1
1722 John base born son of Ann Plail of Laindon Dec 16
The register containing this entry can be viewed online at Essex RO website
