COMPLETE: Sandland
« on: Saturday 04 August 07 21:23 BST (UK) »
A long shot lookup please.
I have just had a birth certificate that shows a mother as Satah A Sandford born c1820 in Lichfield Sraffordshire. She had first child in 1844 after marrying James Walker.

Could someone check 1840 census please to establish family.

Thanks

Thanks, it was Sarah A Sandland. (I had never heard the name before). I have her son's birth certificate.
I couldn't see a match on marriages to James Walker though.

She had children from 1844 onwards so would have changed to Walker by 1851 census.

I see a Charles Sandford b 1816/17 in Lichfield in 1881 census, so the family you mention were probably from Lichfield.

Where did they live?

There's a Sarah Sandland marriage to James Walker, Sep 1845 Birmingham

Added: bit intrigued she's Sarah A however ... there's a christening on the IGI, Sarah Sandland, 30 april 1820 Lichfield, parents Charles and Elizabeth

Marriage also on the IGI: Sarah Sandland - James Walker St Martin Birmingham 1 Sep 1845

Can I just flag this one, please. I'm interested in any Sandlands (particularly Sarah and Sinah) in the West Midlands. I've a link to a website somewhere. I'll get back if I find anything.
