Hi,

Getting on great tracing my Mothers side (English) But Dad's side - Irish is a non - starter.......

All I know is this:Samuel Norton Fox - Born: Dungannon 7.2.1909  died 13.3.1965. Father was John ( occupation - Farmer (?)) from marriage certificate  Called up and joined R.Artillery in 1939, and hence England, my mother and then me.......

Came from a fairly large family, one sister - Sara, later married to J.Thompson in Peterborough.

Anyone got any ideas where to get a start on this ?

My Father was born in Northern Ireland, and having checked on the GRONI site they need almost exactlly the information I'm actually looking for to be able to find and issue a full birth certificate........hmmmmmmm

Most will issue information without providing all the details.

So if you have a Date and name, they will issue,  you can not however get your money back if you get the wrong certificate.

I received full details of BMD's without having to buy any certificates or providing many details.

Jane - I have contacted GRONI, who within 40 minutes of receiving my email, replied saying they could issue a certificate and because I already had a short one, it would only be £5
