David MOORE Family
« on: Monday 06 August 07 06:13 BST (UK) »
A 1st Timer!!!

I have a David Moore born c1786 in Fermanagh.

He married a Hannah HALL..

They had son Thomas Moore b 1820 Enniskillen Fermanagh
dtr Mary Ann Moore b 1823 Poss Ennisk
                 son William Henry b1824 Fermanagh

I have been told David was sent to Australia as a convict, and returned to bring his wife and three children back to Australia on the "Margaret" 1837.

Can someone advise re David and his early life.

Thank you.

Welcome to Rootschat.
Australian certificates will have far more information than what is available in Ireland. As with your other post all the dates in question are before the start of civil registration in Ireland so you need to know the relglion & area then find the correct church & then see if its records still exist to verify any information.

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

David Moore was my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather. I am a descendant of David & Hannah's son, William Moore. David Moore was granted a "Certificate of Freedom" on 21 March 1836, so his return to Ireland in 1837 is possible. Great to find other "Moore Family" members out there. I'm only just getting the time to record family details on a database, although I've been sitting on paper-based information for several years.

I'm in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. Are you in the UK or Australia? I have a copy of the family tree, starting with David Moore. Let me know exactly which line or lines of descent you want.
