Hi, no the census is not on-line . you can order films with them on from the LDS. They cost about £2.75 for a month. First you would have to find the nearest LDS family history center. You will also be able to hire the 1911 census to. You can find then from the link below.

Peggy,

Although there is no complete record of the 1901 census online, there are quite a few transcriptions to be had.

What area are hoping to research? - you may be lucky.

I am looking for James Gallagher coachman and wife Ann in Dublin, on the 1901 or 1911 census however I have no address. She was born in Co Meath I do not know where he was born for sure could have been Westmeath One of their daughters was married in England in 1897 and gave "coachman" as her father`s occupation. Thanks for your interest.

Do you know when and where their children were born? a birth certificate would at least give Ann's maiden name if you don't already have this. Are you sure they actually lived in Dublin?

Thanks for the reply aghudowey. All the Gallagher children were born in Co Meath, have all these records. Mother was Ann Crowcock. The only proof I have of their living in Dublin is a picture taken there that looks like ca 1900+.

Problem with ordering census microfilms is that you need to know the address in order to order the correct film.
There's a big gap between Anne's birth in 1878 in Co. Meath and 1901. Are you sure the picture you have is Dublin and not some other city?
