Chalmers Works
« on: Tuesday 07 August 07 11:47 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on  the Chalmers Works in Renfrewshire.

On the poor Relief records that I have just received it mentions that My ggggrandfather was born in Waterside (Chalmers Works) Neilston Renfrew.

I would appreciated any information about the works or the area were he was born.

Hi sicknote

please see link attached http://www.neilston.org.uk/history/industrialrevolution.htm

This gives some info about Chalmers & Co and other things going on in Neilston around that time. My  gt grandfather was station master in Neilston.

Hope this helps
