Hi Jenny,

These baptisms wont be all that helpful but what I hope is that they tie the three baptisms listed to William and Philadelphia to the one baptism listed to William and Philippa by residence and occupation. Res may only be the parish but it may give something more. If they moved about a bit it wont help so here is hoping fathers Occ will be of help such as if we see the first three list Yeoman, Husbandman lets say and then Fanny's lists something completely different such as Blacksmith then it is probably not the same couple. If they appear to tie in, it will at least show us that Philadelphia was also known as Philippa. The IGI List them as Amelia, Eliza, Angelet and Fanny. 1841 census Melinda, Eliza and Fanny. What a pity she didn't have children after civil registration began.

One other thing I wonder about is since the marriage couldn't help us, what about the Banns? Worth a look incase they list her marital status..........Cheers Kris  :D

We already have that information Sylvia. It has been mentioned in other threads re this family, in fact you had already posted it here.

That is not the right Philippa. The Philippa Bone we are hunting was substantially older than James Snell born in about 1796 (quite consistant in the Census Entries.) We are now trying to ascertain if Philadelphia Skidgemore who married William Bone, also used the name Philippa, and may have married James Snell after Williams death........Kris  :D

Thanks Kris.  How do you find the details of the Banns?

Sylvia, thanks for trying to help.

It does mean a lot when others try to help you, as I like to try to help others as well.

I think I might be helping others a lot more since every where I turn I hit a huge brick wall lol.

You are right though Kris, if I can find the details you suggest, I might have a hope....

You could try the OPC or order the film in to your LDS library. It is worth a shot..........Kris  :D
