Alice Foot/ Rafter

Hi,

I have been asked by a friend if I can help her find any information about her grandmother Alice Foot.

I don't have much information to go on. Alice was born in Ireland in 1917. At some point she moved to England, I am not sure if she married before or after leaving Ireland but her married name was Alice Rafter. Alice died aged 40 in 1957 in Wisbech Cambridgeshire and her children were put in a home.

Any information would be appreciated,

Have checked the death index for 1956/57/58
& cannot find a Alice Rafter age about 40.

No neither could I, I tried looking for Alice Rafter and Alice Foot. At a loss as to where to go next.

I know Ken go's to the local libarary a lot doing lookups for other people, plus I think he is a member of Fenland History Society

Ah, Rick

Will look into this one next week.  As you know, I have been busy with a gardening comp and have got through to the next round.  I had the judges around today, but I think I'll take a couple of days break before getting back to it all.

Harry:  I will look into what I can for you, though the names don't ring any bells as yet.
Drake, Blackhall, Roney, Lovell.  Parry, Edwards,  Pardoe, Braun/Brawn/Bryan, all in Bethnal Green, Stepney, Whitechapel, Mile End, Tottenham, Palmers Green and Edmonton area.

I have some more info,

Alice was buried on the 14th August 1957 in Wisbech cemetery. Her death was in the newspaper, she died in hospital and was 20wks pregnant, she died leaving 14/16 children who were put in homes.
Her maiden name was Foot and her married name could have been Rafter or Duffy.
