death cert
« on: Wednesday 08 August 07 21:34 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I would like to get a copy of my fathers death cert so i can try to trace his army record. I understand i need to prove i am next of kin to apply for his army number. I have looked on free bmd but it doesnt seem to have his death in 1963. His name was John Jones and died in Newport late October to early November in that year. Any ideas how to get a copy of the cert without the reference, Phil.

Hi

Only John Jones I could see in Q4 1963 in Newport:

John H Jones age 42  8C  148

Alternatively, if you provide enough details staff at the Newport Registrar Office should be able to provide a copy:

Superintendent Registrar
8 Gold Tops
Newport
South Wales
NP20 4PH

Tel:  01633 265547
