In 1834 David Little and Jane Duncan had a son who died at Cleugheads. This is on a headstone in the Hutton Cemetery. It is Jane's family who are found with headstone's nearby.

I just had a look at the photos I took at Hutton. I actually took the one of the family of Andrew Little of MarionHill. The reason I took it was that it was very near to all the Duncan ones.

Andrew Little died Sept 1st 1870, Hutton, aged 67.  His parents were John Little and Agnes Wright.

So, there is a good chance that John and Agnes are in the same cemetery.

The John Little that I found in 1841 is still alive in 1851, aged 85. Check http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census.aspx

Fingers crossed he made it to 1855

Hi Gadget,

Was at the library looking at the cemetery headstone inscription books.

Couldn't find John and Agnes in the Hutton and Corrie books.

I wonder if Agnes came from another area and was taken home to be buried. As she has died first, it would then be possible for him to be sent off to be buried with her.

Or, as it has happened to me before, they could be in the cemetery and missed during the inscription recording.
