I have a strange feeling he may of been born at sea ,is there a way of finding out. I would like to find who hes mother was on his birth certificate. As my father and also myself have allways had a italian look it would be fun to find out.   James father was a seafairing captain .thanks alot  ::)

On the indexes there's a Walter John, dec qtr 1863, Kent..

has that one been eliminated from your enquiries?

Ok, best thing is to review what you have and their sources:

What census, certificates have you?, and what is the full information from each.
include everyone mentioned (unless it's a vessel or somesuch)!

What do you mean by:

"Have marrige lines"? We really could do with need the full details from a marriage certificate

What did the 1863 certificate say that made you decide that it wasn't the 'correct' child?
