I am looking for a School Teacher in the 1840-50s by the name of John Coffey
could someone please direct me to a site for this in County Cork.

You'll require the following three pieces of information if you wish to start a successful search for Irish ancestors.

1. Denomination.
2. Parish.
3. Townland.

This might make it easier to trace the school.

John Coffey was a Catholic and |I am unaware of the actual Parish however by searching through Griffiths there was a Coffey and a McCarthy existing together. There was only one location that I could find and it was in the Parish of Desertserges in the townland of Lisnacunna. Rightly or wrongly I feel that the closest place that there may have been a school is in Enniskeane. What do you think ?
