Now the interesting bit ........................... Josiah LAMPARD/LAMBARD son of William (a tailor - unless it says jailor) & Jane of Frindsbury baptised Frindsbury 28 May 1837.

Thus, perhaps William Henry (born Malta) was the brother of Josiah (bp 1837) hence the son of William and Jane

OK, this is a message for bearkat and casalguidi.
I feel we are getting very close to solving this one.
I have a William Lampard and Jayne Maynard on my tree who were the parents of "my" henry lampard,
married to Sarah Rogers.
William and Jayne also had another son who I have recorded as William Maynard Lampard born 1788.
I think this is the father of William born in Malta 1823. I did not previously have any wife/children for
William Maynard Lampard, which is not surprising if the information was in Malta!
I have passed everything on to my lady in Malta so that she can do research her end.
So, although this connection was not the one we originally thought, at least she may be connected somewhere along the line.
I'll keep you posted.
