Glad you found some records of interest.

Its worth a visit to the Hampshire Records Office if you live nearby.  Microfilms/microfiche are fairly easy to use (someone can show you how the machines works) and it is easy to print copies of the documents.
Otherwise the HRO can send you copies of the documents for a fee.

P.S.  If haven't been to a records office before you will need a reader's ticket so take along a passport-sized photo.

Hi bearkat,
Thanks for the update. I do have a reader's ticket but this is for the Essex Records Office. Is this OK?

If it's a CARN (County Archive Research Network) ticket it will be fine.

Hi - I have Elizabeth CAWTE married to Frederick PAYS 18/2/1865.
I believe Elizabeth's parents to be James & Sarah - probably from Hursley.
Elizabeth is my Grt Grandmother's sister in law.
Any information would be welcome and appreciated.

Hi Roger,
You have contacted me before and I don't believe we have a link at this stage, although I do have a James born 1792 in Botley. I do not have any details of his marriage or his children. James was the son of Robert Cawte and Elizabeth Paye. You still have an open invitation to view my family tree, so feel free
to look at this entry and see whether this ties up with the James you have.
I feel sure we will connect eventually, its just finding the right relative!
Best of luck with your search.

Thanks Lynda - I try so many message boards and forget what I've written before!
