Hi miss piggy,

A copy of ex-husband's birth certificate will give names of father and mother, including mother's maiden name.   Using their names you can look for a marriage.   If this happened in England the marriage certificate should show the names of their fathers.   The ages of the bride and groom will also be shown.   Their births can then be looked for and so on backwards.

I hope this helps.

Hi miss piggy

Do you know the names of his mother etc or when she died, might help narrow it down a bit ;)

Hi miss piggy,

You don't need your marriage lines (you could always buy another copy).  If you start with a copy of your ex husband's birth certificate (cost £7) then that will give you some information to  get your search going.

As this search concerns people who might still be living, please do not mention their names, but general advice is fine.

Many thanks

Arranroots  ;)
