1841 Census - Judson - COMPLETED WITH V.MANY THANKS TO ISOBELRUSS
« on: Sunday 26 August 07 22:21 BST (UK) »
Looking for Henry William Judson on 1841 census.  He was born in 1818 St Martin in the Fields, Westminster but was married in York in 1847.  His father was John Judson and his mother Jane (they were married St Martin in the Fields, Westminster).  Grasping at straws on this one as I don't know whether they would be in York or London or whether Henry would be at home with parents or on his own.  Nor do I know of any siblings of Henry to help trace family.  Any help appreciated.

Regards.

Zephyr

Hi Isobel

Not much help, I'm afraid.  On 1881 census Henry is a Labourer.  This is the only census information I have on Henry.  In case you can access 1851 or 1861 to see what he was doing in those years: he married Emma Harbourn in 1847.  They had children Henry = 1849, Elizabeth = 1851, William = 1852, Walter = 1856, Charles = 1857, Emily = 1861, Frederick = 1863, Ada = 1867 and Carrie = 1867.

Hope this is of some help.

With many thanks.

Hello Isobel

Thank you so much!  You have given me lots of information that I didn't have before.  I now know Henry had a sister, Eliza, and that he was a confectioner.  The 1841 has got me confused - I don't know of Frances or Martha so will have to do some research.  I wonder if Henry was married before he met Emma?  I can see I am going to be busy.   Strange how Henry moves from confectioner to shoemaker (according to his wife) and then back to confectioner.  Food for thought (so to speak!).  There is certainly lots here to keep me going for quite a while.

Many many thanks for all your help.  All this information is brilliant.

With very best wishes.
