Jim the 1st 2 PRONI sites don't seem to be working for me. Aren't they from Ulster Covenant (1912) instead of Covenanters?

Aghadowey, your always right, it is as quickdraw found. the covenanters phrase is either the old title of that database or my error.  I apologise, I made the 200 page index of Comber information about 4 years ago, taking nearly 3 months full time, all for fun and not regretted. its intention was to be the basis of a one place study like Ros Davies has done.  But I have lost all interest in continuing it and having offered for free to the present and last Comber websites providing they first clear copyright with any sources claiming copyright. Perhaps the local history society may yet take it over or your goodselves.  Questions with the speed of quicksilver from you Quickdraw makes me admit to the period of my life when I was most challenged by a wonderful mentor who was the Librarian of the Linen Hall Library, the late Jimmy Vitty, and I was his sub-librarian. About 1961/2, I made the index of the Blackwood collection at nightime and Sundays for my own sake in answering member or guest questions. The library paid for the typing, it was never proof read or edited, my original catalogue cards were destroyed I think partly by friendly fire. Hence I cant be sure if it is vol 12 or vol 18. The present Librarian says putting the whole collection on CD or DVd has been considered and is coming up again for consideration. Know any benefactors?
Sorry rushing again, Now back to the Megaws

Quickdraw once the bug gets you it is hard to stop, you may know everything below but I cant tell so I am not patronising, just throwing out possible leads.
From the few Megaws on familysearch.com I think the interest might focus on one of the following, my guess being the killinchy line.So again I would focus on chutch records for killinchy etc
HUGH MEGAW  Birth:  20 MAR 1869   , Antrim, Ireland
Parents:
  Father:  JOHN MEGAW  Family
  Mother:  MARIA MC SHANE
GEORGE MEGAW  Christening:  22 JUN 1824   Presbyterian, Killinchy, , Down,

 I looked at emerald ancestors and found a spelling McCaw even McWha

There appears to be quite a few Megaws who were botantists/archaelogists etc see Google

Try www.lennonwylie.co.uk and ask its search engine to do Megaw

See www.genfair.com/shop/pages/uhf/page07.html and search for Megaw{family history}

As always I read the question too fast from Ros davies again
Hill Head,  freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/ Comber Map Reference 21: 43/66 Farm;4km SW Of Comber,  The 6inch OS map of townlands for the 1830s and 1860s are in existence.

I really must stop. All the best, Jim

Thanks Jim, but it seems you are onto Megaws rather than Megraws.
