ADAMSON small presentation bible
« on: Tuesday 28 August 07 22:16 BST (UK) »
I was helping a friend clear her late mother's house at the weekend.

One of the bibles is a small "British and Foreign Bible Society" volume.

It is inscribed "Nellie Adamson
a token of approval for 3 years faithful service and attendance at Bible Class.

Advent 1918   L E McHale [could in fact be Mc hide or many other - not sure on the writing]

This person has no known link to my friend, so I took it as my daughter needs a small bible for her Uni course starting this monthy.  She has been reading Genesis in the garden today!

However, if anyone can prove a link to Nellie Adamson (she would be born after 1900 I guess), I will send it to them for cost of postage.  I know where this is likely to have been obtained, so please tell me where you think your relative lived in 1918.

Is this in Canada?

I should have said that this would have originated in Scotland, either Edinburgh or Paisley.  Sorry..
