1881 Census Lookup Please - HARDY

Hi all,

Would someone be so kind as to have a look for my HARDY family on the 1881 census, please?

Mother: Honor Hardy b. abt 1853 Sudbury Suffolk [Hommor in 1891 census]
[Father possibly Charles Hardy... Not listed in 1891 census and dead by 1901]
Children:
Bertram (?) b. abt 1877 Hants Alton (1891 census has Daur)
Victor b. abt 1879 Devon Collington
Georgina b. abt 1881 Suffolk Milden Hall (I see cert. Mar qtr 1881 Milden Hall)
( + other children born later than 1881)

From the 1891 census RG 12/1012 folio 22 pg 18 (transcribed as Hardey)
and 1901 census RG 13/1169 folio 34 pg 32

As you can see by the children's birth places, this family moved around a bit, I hope they may have been living in Suffolk at the 1881 census because Georgina was born there early 1881.

Edit: Oopps! forgot the 1901 census has son - John Hardy b. abt 1873 Sussex Morlden

Hi Hilary,

I've had a search through the 1881 census, and I can't find them either.

With all that travelling it's certainly a possibility that they were "on the road" on the night of the census.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

Thanks for that, I have been thinking that perhaps they slipped past the enumerators too.

Have just recieved birth cert for son Charles Victor HARDY, Born: 14 Mar 1879, Devon.
Father: Charles Hardy, Umbrella Maker
Mother: Honor Hardy formerly Wright
Living at Exeter Road Cullompton.

Off now to have a look for them.
