John and Ann Davies and David Davies born 1842

I am looking for any information on John and Ann Davies born about 1811 in Carmarthenshire. I know they were living in a cottage called Gwargorof in Cayo, Carmarthenshire in the 1841 Census. They had a son called David Davies born 22 June 1842 at this cottage Gwargorof.

I am trying to get hold of the birth certificate of David Davies but was wondering what sub-registars' district he would be on the BMD indexes - would it simply be Carmarthen?

Any info on these ancestors etc would be appreciated.

Nothing like starting with a nice easy family is there?    If the birth was registered it would have been Llandovery registration district at the time, sub-registration district of Conwil Cayo. Registers are now in Carmarthen (I think). You could try emailing just to make sure -

Ive found the family in 1841 is this them in 1851?Parents match but there are a other possible David Davies in 1851 not living with parents.

Well the above i found in 1851 isnt your family i found them in 1841 living in Pumpsaint still living with Johns Mother and we know yours were elsewhere.
Have you got your family in 1851 if you have post the details and ill look again

I reckon David Davies could have been working as a servant somewhere by 1851 although he would only have been 9 years old. I can not see to find him on the Census or any of the family for 1851. It is a bit of a mystery. I know that the graves of John and Ann Davies are in Cilycwm churchyard.

Hiya since you know where and when David was born you need to send for his birth cert youll have mothers maiden name then,And then you can send for parents marriage cert which will give you their fathers names.The names are so common without more info are hard to find.No i cant find them in 1851 yet either.Do you know when John and Ann died ?
