Walsoken Parish Records - Look Up please
« on: Tuesday 04 September 07 01:08 BST (UK) »
If anyone can do a look up in the Walsoken Parish Records for the christening of Sarah Baxter around 1791 I would be very grateful.
I have her marriage in 1809 Wiggendale St Mary Magdelene to a Michael Goodale.

Thanks
Lesley

Thanks Ricky,

Unfortunately I live out of the Country so a visit there is not possible at the moment.
I know they have a research service but that is outside my budget also.

Hi Lesley

You could always leave a lookup on this site, and Ken who runs it belongs to the Wisbech and Fenland History Society might be able to help. Its free and no cost's for the lookup ;D

Hi Lesley

Norwich RO also has Walsoken PR's on microfilm, so if anybody is going there maybe they will do a lookup for you.

the Norfolk Marriage Index has a Sarah Baxter married to William Goodall on 27 Aug 1810 at Walsoken

hi Yokel

thats better than paying £5 per hour being as the museum was given all the machines and microfilms for nothing ;)

Hello Lesley,
I am also interested in the Baxters of Walsoken, but I am only back positively to John Baxter, c1785, who married Ann Blackwell in 1817 at Walsoken.
However, a member of the family recently trawled the Walsoken PRs and I have a 5 page list of BMDs from 1670 to 1811. I know it is not absolutely complete as some of the writing was unreadable.
There are other Baxter children's Baptisms 1786 - 1902 whose parents were John and Mary Baxter, Walter and Elizabeth Baxter, Thomas and Sarah Baxter and Robert and Hannah Baxter.
Your Sarah c1791 does not appear but a marriage on 27 August 1810 reads:
William GoodALL (bachelor) and Sarah Baxter (spinster) witnessed by Elizabeth Addison and William Baxter by mark.
Also on 14 July 1811 the Baptism of William son of William and Sarah GoodALE (formerly S Baxter spinster) born this day and privately Baptised.
If you look at my profile you will see a link to my Family tree website and in the GOOSE tree you will find my Baxters. There is a direct link to me on the website home page. I can then send you the 5 page word doc.
Best wishes,
Ron.
