I would go with St John's in Port Glasgow
there are only three catholic churches in the area
I know st Francis's is a relativeley knew church
and there's Holy Family not sure when that was built but I dont think it was that far back
the one that closed was St Mungo's my grandchildren were baptised there and daughter
needed a copy of one of their baptismal certs
she was able to obtain it from st Laurences I think all of StMungo's records were sent there

I am a descendant of Daniel Kelly and Cecelia McLaughlan who married in Ireland circa 1851. They had a son Michael b 1851, a daughter Ellen b 1853 both Ireland. They moved to Port Glasgow and had 2 other children Elizabeth b 13/3/1857 and Daniel b 1859. I descend from Michael. I have no idea where in Ireland they came from but know a bit about the family if you are interested.
