Fiona,

I've found it on several old OS maps at:

http://www.old-maps.co.uk

It is located almost due south of Seton Mains Halt and Seton.  It is variously spelt on maps as Riggonhead, Rigganhead.

The modern OS map only indicates open cast workings, but my road atlas of Edinburgh still shows that it is there.

The location of Riggonhead is shown by the arrow on the map at this web-link.

Ordnance Survey map showing where Riggonhead was

I have an older version of that map which shows Riggonhead. As implied in the reply above, I can only assume that it was swept away when the Blindwells Opencast Coal mine came its way.

Seton Sands is shown in the top right-of-centre of that map section, so across the fields (and road and railway), it is only about a mile away from where Riggonhead was.
