Hi Sarah,

I tried Family Search and Scotlands People OPR's but couldn't find a birth, marriage or death either.

Hello Sarah,

I'm intrigued to know how you know where he was born and when, if he died before 1841?

Jean ???

Hi Jean,

This matter is also on the following threads:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,254232
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,255176

From which it seems that Peter has now been found.

I found him possibly/probably still alive in the 1841 census.  I don't know what else Sarah has found since then.

But your questions are very good ones indeed!!  I suspect that the time scale for his alleged death would have come from the birth of his youngest child being in 1839 (all children born in Glamis according to the IGI), and the fact that he wasn't with his wife in 1841.  But where Sarah got 'st.vigeans arbroath' and 'born about 1801' I have no idea.

Thanks for your reply Jap,

Yes, I'd done a few searches and found a few possibles on census records and births on IGI.

My worry was that there was some records out there that I didn't know about and could possibly be helpful in my own research!!!

I've had a PM from Sarah who says that she doesn't know where he was born, but that he lived around St Vigeans. But that still puzzles me - how do you know he lived around St Vigeans Sarah?

Jean :)

Hi Jean,  As you can see from the other thread(s), there seems to be nothing to indicate St Vigeans or Arbroath as relevant places ...

Over to you Sarah K!

Incidentally, Sarah K, it's a good idea to keep all correspondence out in public view on the RootsChat boards.  Not only so all of us now can see all the possibly relevant information (which means that everybody can try to help) but also so that people who might Google in future and come across this thread can see all relevant info   :D
