BAYAN Family
« on: Tuesday 04 September 07 20:22 BST (UK) »
Does anybody have any information on surname BAYAN in Co Mayo - I have a Thomas BAYAN born 1877 in my family tree and can not trace anything on him apart from 1901 census in Liverpool where he was living with his cousin Martin O'Hara.

Any Help would be great

Hello mohgsy,

There are no listings for Bayan in Ireland on the Griffith's Valuation extracts.

Names starting with Bay ... in Mayo in 1865-7 were Bayard, Baynes, Baynes and Bayns. There was only one family in Ireland bearing a name like Bayan and that was a family called Bayhan in Co. Waterford where the Valuation took place in 1848-51.
