Sad story to my great-aunt,she was told  that her husband had died in  WW2,and took up with some one else and became pregnant, after a time was told that her husband was a POW and was on his way home, she died after a termination.
Would also like to frame it to give to my aunt for her 80th birthday,

Hi Belle

What a sad story and what a lovely lady  :)  I think the photo looks good as it is - it conveys a certain mood. However, if you do want it lightened, I think it could be made to look really good if it was  scanned  at a higher resolution. Yours is only 150 dpi. See

Hi Belle

I'm not familiar with that scanner - does it offer you a choice of sizes or resolution anywhere when you prepare to scan?

Gadget

PS Just read the spec and it says that it can scan up to 1200 dpi, so there should be some alternatives offered to you during the scanning process

Oh dear, yes you do . The problem for you is that it will print up quite small if you want to give it as a gift :-\

Smurf's done a good one - it might be worth trying to print up your original and Smurf's to see how they come out at the size you want.

Ooooooooo ... if only I knew how to do colour ... this is a beautiful  photograph and so delicate :)

I've fiddled around with it for a while and removed most of the black dots on her dress ... just hope they weren't emeralds !  ;D
