Hi Val,
Not sure how far you've got - but I had a glance at the Canadian Website for 'Frank Taylor's -
"www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/02010602_e.html"
- and there are rather a lot of 'em!! (And I didn't look for 'Francis'!)
You can, I think, use the links to look at parts of the individual records which may help you decide on a suitable 'candidate' for a grandfather. eg. Rule a lot out on discharge date or date of repatriation etc.
Good luck.       Geordie.

It is recorded that she refused to give any information about my grandfather at the birth of my mother on 24th August 1920. On the occasions that I have tried to find further information about him, it has been stressed to me to leave the issue be and that discretion is preferred.

I wonder if the reason that "discretion is preferred" is because your Frank was involved in the riots at the Park in 1919. Over 50 Canadian Servicemen were Court Martialed and many imprisoned for their part in the riots, including a private Taylor (I don't know if he was known as Frank though). The court martial was reported extensively in the press particularly in the Liverpool Courier, the Manchester Guardian and the London Times. If you can get to a newspaper library which has copies of these newspapers (particularly the Liverpool Courier) it might be worth going through the editions for April and May 1919 to see if Frank is mentioned in any of the reports

Hi Val,
It looks as tho I've led you down a blind alley! I'm sure that when I last looked at that site there was more info available!!
Like a lot of other sites they now want you to pay for what used to be free! The 'Attestation Papers' don't tell you much except that the man had a mole on his left buttock! - not really helpful!!
Other ideas - By the end of 1919 there can't have been many Canadians left at Kinmel, a year after war ended. Would a check on troopships leaving Liverpool between, say, 01.11.19 and 30.06.20 help? If Lloyds List can't help then the Liverpool archive people might be able to. Two places might help:
'Liverpool Nautical Research Society' (?) - Mr. Harry Hignett -
' hmhignett@onetel.net '
and: Liverpool Museums Service -
' maritime.archive@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk ' . They both seem to be quite helpful, but don't push your luck or you might get a bill!
Having done that you could then approach Ottawa to get the Passenger Manifest for a particular voyage - which ARE held on film. Your local library might even be able to borrow it for you?
Sorry I can't be of more help - and I hope you've been able to repair the wardrobe OK!
Cheers. Geordie.  (NOT Georgie! - and it's Bob anyway!)
