Date of 1851 census

Can anyone please confirm or otherwise the date of the Scottish 1851 census.  Was it the 30th March.

I have seen all the years with dates somewhere but I cannot find it again.  Were they all March and was the rest of Britain the same.

The 1851 Census for Scotland was taken on the night of 30/31 March 1851


I think 1841 was later - it was in England .... wait one ...

The 1841 Census for Scotland was taken on the night of 6 June 1841

Thanks Newf for that quick reply.

I am looking for a Penelope Frater (nee Hay) born 1834 Kirkcudbright.  I do not have the date of marriage.  She arrived in Australia in June 1851 so I would think she would still have been here when the census was done but I cannot find her.  She was married to Alexander Frater born 1828 Kirknewton.

Any help with this would be great.
