i belive these children were also born in ireland i have the son jhames as born in antrim but no more than that

the family moved to scotland before the 1881 census

From the children listed on IGI it looks as though you won't get any birth certificates in Ireland (civil registration of births began 1864).
However, of the Scottich birth certificates should list names of parents & date and place of their wedding.
See Scotland's People for examples of information on Scottish birth, marriage and death certificates.

Hi chrissey,
What denomination were your ancestors ???

You may not get birth certificates but possibly you could get a copy of the birth registered in the Parish Records. Click here to see Church of Ireland Records and their Locations.

There are replies about this couple on the Renfrewshire board.

Christopher- does that link actually list the churches and their records? Maybe I missed something but all I could see was a general explanation with no details on individual church records.
Think Chrissey will need a more exact location other than 'Antrim' before searching church records.
