Thanks for look ups. I found him in 1901 census aged 19 as a breadmaker journeyman baker at a Mary Bates baker & shopkeeper's at 18 Winsover Road, Spalding. He must have taken over the bakery at 4 Commercial Road sometime around when he married. My father took over the bakery at the end of WW1 when I was aged 6 and then we lived in 4 Commercial Road. Grandfather retired and moved to another house in Spalding.
