Just found the full details of the baptism of Richard and Mary's daughter Sarah which kindly gives Mary's parents as William and Sarah Ancell - nice to have that confirmation

Hello Janan,

Just a thought. Have you tried the Pirtonhistory.org.uk website. The database contains over 300 Ansell entries goinig back to the 1500s. There are a few Godfreys as well. I only mention it as Pirton is very near to both Pegsdon and Shillington.
