There is only one family called Beenham on the 1891 census in Herefordshire, but John born 1871 is not with them

There is John Beenham aged 62 born Gloucester
Fanny aged 41 born Hereford
Sarah A aged 20
Thomas aged 15
Elizabeth aged 13
Emily aged 8
Jacob aged 5
Alice aged 1 all born St Martins Hereford

On the 1881 census the family are at Blackmarston in St Martin Parish in Hereford City, and 10 year old John a scholar is there as is 10 year old Sarah. So were they twins. Both down as born St Martins Hereford.

Hi EBN

Thanks for the lookups all the information is very helpful. I have just found on the 1871 census that John and Fanny are shown as man and wife, looks like they were not quite honest about there marital status? and if there children's ages are correct Fanny would have had her 1st child at 13 years of age.

Best wishes,
Adrian

Fanny is down as 52 on the 1901 census  and 32 on the 1881 census, so she was born in 1849.
She would have been 22 when she had the [twins?] John and Sarah .
Or are there older chidren you know about ?

Sorry I have just noticed the marriage date I gave is down wrong ! It was 1866 not 1886 ! :-[ :-[ :-[

Mar 1866 Hereford
Marriage of John Beenham
One of two possible wives is Fanny Davies

In 1871, Rachel, 8, may have been from an earlier marriage.
