Hi Tazz and Ecneps

There is a John Cunningham on the 1861 census born 1843 Ireland, but he is a confectioner living in Castle Square , St Nicholas, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland,

he is living as a boarder in the house of Patrick Hayes and family, and another person called James Cunningham

wether he is the right man or not I wouldnt like to say

He's the only one I can see, obviously needed to change occupations.  If it was Elizabeth Todd he married, there are two born Cramlington 1849 in the 1861 census, so you'd need the marriage cert to check out the father's name first.  Perhaps one of the children's birth certs first to check her maiden name.

Happy hunting,
Barbara

Hello tazz, Don't fret about the Irish side of your family....try to find his tombstone and it MAY list his home parish in addition to the fact that he was from County Mayo. Happy hunting! Pat
