I've got a photo taken of my Great Grandmother and her daughter. It was taken around the WW1 period. What I find interesting about it is the badges/brooches they are wearing. They look specific as if they belonged to a society or something. Can anybody help me identify what they are?

They look like WW1 "Sweetheart Brooches" of particular regiments. If you Google WW1 Sweetheart brooch you will see some examples.
