Marriage - Beggars Bush area Dublin - completed
« on: Saturday 15 September 07 16:52 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for a marriage in the area of Beggars Bush Barracks c1843 between Richard Ritchings and Johanna Fahey.  Richard was born in Gloucestershire and joined the army in 1841 and went to Ireland. Johanna was born in Clonmell, Tipperary c1822.

Their first child was George Augustus Ritchings bn c1844 who gives his p.o.b on census as Beggars Bush.

Thanks
Rosie

Any suggestions of a C of E Church in the area would be appreciated, later children bapt C of E

Beggars Bush was a large complex of buildings which would have included accomodation and a chapel.

"Garrison Chapel, Beggars Bush, Haddington Road,Dublin 4
The National Print Museum was offically opened in 1996 in the former Garrison Chapel of Beggars Bush Barracks in Dublin 4. The museum was established to document the history of printing in Ireland, to retain the skills relating to the craft of printing and to create a permanent working exhibition of printing."

Hi Anne

Many thanks for your reply, shame it isn't now an army museum. I think this could be one of my brickwalls.
