Pre War Service Records
« on: Saturday 15 September 07 18:43 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys,

I am trying to find the service history of my Granda, he served from around 1901 - 1907 then was involved in the Great War. I have had people look for his service record from 1914 - 1918 but it appears to be burnt.  I would dearly like to see what he was doing 1901 - 1907 as I think this is kept in another place and wasn't destroyed by the blitz.

regards,

Swally

Hi Swally  :)

Your Granda's records should be searchable at TNA, Kew.  You would have to go there in person or get someone to do it for you to hopefully 'seek them out'.  They are an absolute treat to look at compared to the awful   'blackened' and singed burnt records.
Reid: Nicol: Peterhead and Aberdeen
McDonald: Greig: Milne: Aberdeenshire
Moreland: Lanarkshire, Whitehaven in Cumbria and Ireland
Cunningham: Lanarkshire, Cumbria and Ireland
Halliday: Falkirk, Stirlingshire and Ireland
Redpath: Stirlingshire and Banbridge
