James Wylie, born c 1831

I have recently had contact with an individual, who may be a relative.
 I am keen to find out about the above, JAMES WYLIE.
I believe that he was born in Tullyvalen,NewtonHamilton, Cty Armagh.
 would be greatful to anyone who has a link to this name and area, around 1831.

What denomination was the James Wylie? Was he a Catholic, member of the Established Church (Anglican or Church of Ireland) or a Presbyterian?

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

Iam of the assummption, that James was Presbytertian. His marriage to Maria? was at Newtonhamilton.CtyArmagh.
The marriage was :by licence WH Mayston.
Newtownhamilton. Cty Armagh.
