it's a UFO! Unidentified Foto Object  :D <ducking>

If Idin't know better I'd guess it was a collapsible sousaphone.

Actually the photo looks like it's been messed with the right tip just disappears  ???

Yikes, you're ganging up on me...I didn't mean for it to be so tricky :D

Here's the scene: It's evidently a family gathering of some importance. All my father's siblings are there, and this is one of their children. I'm there, the only baby, but it can't be my christening, because I look at least a year old and I was christened at 5 months.

I'ts important enough that my mother's mother is there from about 1200 miles away.

While the siblings are posing for the camera, my father and my mother's mother are in the background looking off to the left, taking more pictures.

So I thought whatever Robbie's holding might give a clue. the photos are actually scanned negatives, hence the odd colouring.

ummm ...the boy next to him does have a frilly shirt on ...maybe it's a hat that goes with the attire .... frilly shirt, blazaar etc
