Long time no speak, hope you and hubby are well  ;D

When scanning pics, whether they are black and white, sepia or colour...ALWAYS scan with your scanner set to COLOUR mode, as scanning in colour mode will pic up the more subtle shadings of grey/brown in the black and white/sepia pics because it thinks they are different colours (rather than shading) and you get a much better image.
