I will try to get to Peebles Library on Monday and have a look to see what records they have. Unfortunately there may be nothing in the M.I.'s as they are also pre-1855 and I am not sure what Census records they hold there.
I understand from your message that you have the birth date, parents and 1851 Census record. Is it really the later years that you are looking for?

Am going to try for the 1861 census on "scotlandspeople", at the moment have Andrew dec. before 1876 and Janet nee Cossar death 1902 widow of Andrew Graham living High St.Portobello Farm Steward ,he was a Dairyman on his daughters mar. cert in 1876.

Got her parents John Cossar & Marion nee Inglis, am going backwards at the moment, not forward beyond 1901.

Barry.

PS.

Andrew in Eddlestone 1861 with family as Farm Steward.
Died1870 Portobello age 58, Cowfeeder. parents William & Isabella nee Melrose.

Sorry, this reply is a bit half-baked but I only had 10 minutes spare to look today
There were no Grahams listed in the Eddleston pre1855 M.I's and the census books for Eddleston seem to be out at the moment. The 1841 should be there. The Peebles 1841 mentioned an Andrew, I think, with wife Allison - will have a look at that.
I had a look at the Peebles M.I.s and, although they may be nothing to do with the family you are looking for, I noted the Graham's down.
Graham Alexander son of Robert Graham a travelling man died 9 Feb and buried 10 Feb 1835 aged 1 year smallpox
Graham Ann indweller Peebles buried 3 July 1832
Graham Elizabeth spouse of John Baptie shoemaker died 20 Jan and interred 24 Jan 1843
Graham George died 25 March and interred 28 Mar 1844
Graham Mary widow of George Graham died 21 Aug and interred 26 Aug 1833.

Hi Excel,

Looks like the Graham family moved to Portobello after 1861, so any MI could be there, will keep the others you found in mind.

Thanks for looking any way.
