Long shot, but can anyone enhance this picture - SORTED!
« on: Friday 21 September 07 15:28 BST (UK) »
Hi this may be an extreme long shot, but on the attached picture i am wondering if anyone can enchance the black panel above the door to read what it says. I am trying to find out where this pub was based and hoping that will have the answer. Sadly its a photo that has been passed on from the states, so i don't have the original, hence this is the best quality i can give. I can't ask the lady to resend it as it has taken some time already to receive it.

Thank you Gary

I may have a slightly better copy of it, but can not upload it to this site.

Hi Poll, let me jump in here... I did PM Gary and he emailed it to me, but I couldn't see any improvement in the quality of the pic, in fact I thought the closeup of the sign already posted was superior.

But all I have to deal with photos is the Microsoft Office Picture Manager so you might see a difference with your fancy software :D

The actual area itself needs to be scanned on it's own, enlarged (400%or more) & at a really high d.p.i...
otherwise everyone will go blind trying.... ::) blink*blink

Try also scanning to a better quality product, like a tiff...then save as a jpg with NO compressions (jpgs have a built in compression, so no need to make for more of a mess...
