Thanks for trying anyway. We did actually take a trip yesterday to buckinghamshire, as there was a suggestion it was there, found only one pub still in existence in the area. And when we got there.................it had just been served with an eviction order the week before and was derelict. Had a look through the windows and there were some old pics on the wall, but not close enought to get a proper view of them.

Took a picture of it though, because one of the walls on the right hand side looked as if it may be it, if you were standing on the other side of the wall. We walked around the back to have a look, but there was a hugh fenced off field, so couldn't step far back enough to have a look, but what we could tell was that there was a new addition to building on this side, because it had new flat roof added on to the side portion of it. However the chimney stack looks like its the right place and the roof seems similar. This building was apparently more then 300 years old, so expect it would have been modified in time, its called the Fox in Ibstone, Buckinghamshire if anyone wants to google the information i found on it. Have to get in touch with aylesbury records office to see if they have any more information on the pub.

But if anyone wants to give me an opinion i will upload the photo.  ;D

Cheers Gary

Well, the roofline does look similar, and so does the chimney, but in the new picture there seems to be 4 or 5 courses of brick above the sticky-outy-layer of brick near the top of the chimney, while the old picture only seems to have a couple. Or maybe it's just the angle.

How does a pub get an eviction order? Lousy timing...!

Cheers,

LOL, have no idea, it looked like people had been fighting outside it, there was smashed glass and plant pots everywhere, upturned tables, broken locks. I think possibly it was due to arrears, but not certain as not much information given on the notices on the door.

I think maybe trying to clutch at straws on this one, does look quite similar but you are right there are slight differences. Back to the old research.........
