There is a definately likeness, will look at them side by side and see what I come up with.

same photo of head only, slightly bigger and mirror image so he is facing same way as sons.
ears are same for sure.  Nose similar. 
same eager look

Well  done  there is a distinct likeness to the sons allthough  they  could be a resemblance  to  their  mother a  formidable  looking lady  as  this photo shows

I  should  have  put  in  these facts
 Henry Martin  Bayley  the subject of  the first photo was born in  in  Holme Yorkshire in 1850  and married in Spalding on Moor in Yorkshire in 1873 to Sythey Brounless/Brownless and  he came to oz first  and  then she arrived  with their first child  and  then  they  had  their first Australian  born  child in 1879  He died in 1935 in Sydney aged 85

Eager look!!! mmmmmmmmmmm  look  like stunned mullets to me,

Dadda,  grandfather Bayley  that is Alfred Bayley  was not a  popular man  with his 11 children, in  fact  they  said  he had cruel thin  lips  and  had a mean streak  to  him!!

"cruel thin lips" now Jenn, I was always told that thin lips were a sign of generousity.

Did I mention I have thin lips 

Still think they have their fathers ears, and Harry, in the photo with his mum, has that chin thing happening

would  you  say  he looked over  thirty!  that  would have to place  the photo in Australia!

I always seem to get the age thing wrong in photos,
but if I had to take a guess I would say yes, definately over 30.
My son will be 30 next year and he still looks quite young, but that could be through a mothers eyes 

maybe others can comment on his age ??

I'm off to do the dishes now
