I forgot to say that I'm going to Warwick record office tomorrow (its closed mondays) so if you think they might have info there, let me know the details and I can have alook for you. Was the adoption formalised/legalised? Sorry don't much about adoption and any associated paperwork (if there was any). It is a really a sad story.

Thank you.  Have had a good look, but nothing I'm afraid.  I did have a very kind person, local to Leamington, go to the library and scour the archives for the ad - also without success.

I think an email to the paper and try to get to the Colindale Newspaper archives is the next step.
