(Dorset) 1841/1851/1861 Census Lookup Requests Please For James Rossiter

Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents and siblings of James Rossiter born on December 26th 1849 at Halstock.

The IGI gives his parents as Charles Rossiter & Jane ( maiden name unknown) but despite searching I have no other information about them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

thought i had found them , just 1  problem , charles's wife in 1861 is a sarahand in 51 is just an initial as are the childrens, they have been mistranscribed  and instead of j for james , has been recorded as i.
there is a charles rossiter in halstock born c.1821 with his parents and sibs.
was charles a carpenter do u know?
in 51 and 61 charles says he is born west coker , somerset.
does all this sound right if so, will  copy all to you of all 3 census.

I have this family in my database. Charles is married to Sarah Harris (22nd Jan 1844 at Halstock). He is a carpenter from West Coker.

He has a son James born circa 1848 at Melbury Osmond.

Can you post what you have please and I'll see how well it matches up with the siblings I have.

Wonder if Charles was married before 1844? Or perhaps there is another Charles married to Jane.

Then again maybe Sarah Harris was Sarah Jane Harris or Jane Sarah Harris and merely used a different name. Sarah was born circa 1818.
